Accuracy

We take care to keep every rate and threshold current and record where each one comes from, but rules change, official sources can be updated without notice, and a calculator can’t see every rule that might apply to you. Where a page shows a notice that its figures are awaiting verification, treat the result as an estimate. We don’t accept liability for loss arising from reliance on a result.

Official calculators

Where a government body publishes its own calculator (for example the ATO’s tax withheld calculator or a state revenue office’s duty calculator), that calculator is authoritative. Our results are designed to match it and we test against it, but the official figure prevails.

Advertising and referral links

Some pages carry advertising and referral links. These are labelled, sit below the result, and don’t influence any calculation. Where we earn a commission from a referral, the page says so next to the link.
